Laurie Schmitt

Laurie Schmitt is the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services at the Allegan Area Educational Service Agency. Laurie received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont and her Master's in Education from Bowling Green State University. She has worked to make school improvement a living process to schools and to apply brain research and best practice to Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in the West Michigan area and statewide. Laurie also serves as Board President of the Saugatuck Douglas Youth Center. She has four children and a husband of 24 years, all of whom have taught her daily about the unique gifts and challenges of each brain!
