Beverly Littner Schroeder is currently the Prevention Coordinator at the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District providing professional development in the areas of health and physical education for the past 22 years.  She has a bachelors in health education and a masters in public health education, both from the University of Illinois.  Bev has been interested in the health and learning connection since she attended her first Brain & Learning Institute in 2001.  She was thrilled to hear the keynote speakers discuss the importance of physical, mental and social health as a foundation for learning.  She continues to challenge schools to examine ways they can promote the health of their students through curriculum, physical activity, policies and practices.  She puts research into action as the director of her children's summer theater program which incorporates brain and learning principles, physical activity, healthy foods and a positive environment.    Bev and her husband of 27 years are currently enjoying the "empty nest syndrome" with both children attending Michigan universities.
